Why doesn't the app show any sites near me?
Make sure location permissions are enabled for Happened Here in your phone's Settings app. The app requires location access to find historical sites nearby. If permissions are on and sites still aren't showing, try moving to a different area — some regions have fewer registered historical sites than others.
How far away are the sites the app shows?
By default the app searches within a radius around your current location. If no sites are found close by, the search radius expands automatically so you always see something relevant.
Where does the historical site data come from?
Site data comes from the National Register of Historic Places via the National Park Service (NPS) database, which includes over 72,000 sites across the United States. Descriptions are supplemented with information from Wikipedia.
What is a check-in and how do badges work?
When you visit a historical site, you can tap "Check In" to record your visit. As you check in to more sites, you earn badges that reflect your exploration milestones — for example, visiting a certain number of sites or covering different historical categories.
How do I delete my check-in history or data?

The app crashed or I found a bug — what should I do?
Please email us with a description of what happened, what device you're using, and your iOS version. Screenshots or screen recordings are very helpful. We take bug reports seriously and aim to fix issues quickly.
